At what age can my child attend the performance?

Performances can be a fun experience for all ages.  A good gauge to knowing when a child is ready to attend a performance is if they are able to sit through a movie.

I lost my tickets. What do I do?

If you can’t find them in advance of the show, give the Box Office a call at 704.372.1000 to have them reprinted. It’s helpful to have your customer ID number or order number when calling.

If you can’t find them on the night of the show, visit the Box Office when you arrive at the theater and they will be able to reprint your tickets.

Is there a dress code?

There is not a dress code for performances.  Some patrons choose to dress up for a special night out, while others wear more business casual attire.

Where do I park?

For performances at the Knight Theater, $5 parking payment will be collected when you enter the Levine Center for the Arts garage. For more information, including a map, click here.

For performances at the Belk Theater, a $5 exit pass is available for purchase at the theater. For more information on garage locations, click here.

For performances at Patricia McBride & Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux Center for Dance, free parking is available in the gravel lot behind the building off of 10th St or in the Hal Marshall County Services parking lot across N Tryon St.

Do you have any dining recommendations?

Blumenthal Performing Arts recommends several dining partners for patrons, many of which have special offers for ticket holders.

Click here for the partner list.

How long is a typical performance? Is there an intermission?

Although each performance varies in length, most are approximately two hours including one intermission.

What time should I arrive for a performance?

We recommend arriving 30 minutes prior to the start of the performance. This will give you enough time to park, find your seats, use the restroom, purchase any concessions and read the playbill before the performance begins.

The lobby opens an hour prior to the performance and the doors to the theater open 30 minutes before.

If you arrive after the performance has started, you may be asked to sit in the rear of the theater until a piece ends so as not to disrupt the dancers or other audience members.
