Nutcracker Coast to Coast: How New Sets and Costumes are Made

Thanks to a $1 million dollar gift from the McColl family in honor of Jane Spratt McColl, Charlotte Ballet is built all new sets and costumes for Nutcracker.  Former Artistic Director Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux is worked with a world-renowned design team to create the 208 new costumes plus scenery and sets for the performance.

Costume designer Holly Hynes brought Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux’s vision for Nutcracker to life.  With 250 ballets to her credit, Holly has worked extensively with New York City Ballet and Ballet de l’Opéra National de Paris paralleling Jean-Pierre’s work as a dancer.
